My ds 10 wants a penpal

My ds just came to me saying that he wants to find a penpal. Does this still happen? Is there a safe way of doing it? I had penpals when I was a kid. I think that there used to be addresses in the back of the Garfield magazine or something haha. Any ideas?

Just following as my 8 year old dd would love this too! I had loads when I was younger!

Our kids write to the local home for the elderly. They look forward to receiving the letters and write back.

There’s an organisation called International Pen Friends that we use, you have to pay to get 5-6 addresses but they also share your address, so we’ve had letters from all over the world. I’m more enthusiastic that the DCs unfortunately.
