Final call for....

I'm sat at the airport waiting on my flight (not boarding yet) there's a flight to Belfast boarding now and over the PA system we're getting "can passenger 'John Smith' proceed IMMEDIATELY to gate X, final call for passenger 'John Smith'"
Hear this regularly and always wonder what happens to these rogue passengers that have checked in but have disappeared?! ConfusedConfused

I always wonder this too! Unless they just get so absorbed in the duty free that they lose track of time!

A colleague and I were the 'last call' passengers once!

In our case, we'd gone for a quick bite to eat whilst waiting for the flight and hers had clearly disagreed with her- she was throwing up violently in the loo and urging me not to leave her alone to go to the gate and let them know as she was worried about not being able to find me again.

That are gassing on their phones and have no awareness of their surroundings. H did this in Turkey. Idiot.

We were those passengers once when I was younger and flying with my dad, possibly to Ireland to visit family.

He just got so absorbed in wandering in duty free that he didn't realise the plane full of people was waiting on us & we had to run to catch it!

We have done it twice. The first time we were happily enjoying food and drinks in the cafe and just completely lost track of time. The second the flight time had changed but we didn't realise- we were really busy getting through security and sorting the kids out, didn't look at the boards properly, thought we had loads of time but ended up almost missing the flight. Mortified both times and we are obsessive about checking the boards now

Oh this happened to me. First time I travelled to the US alone. I was there in plenty of time, checked the boards and went off to browse make up in duty free and totally lost time, I thought I had ages to get to the gate when I was in the toilets and heard the last call for my flight. I ran to something like gate 34 and the staff member shouted ‘just two more’ as I ran through.

Seems to be duty free and food that does it then! Grin
I feel better for knowing!
