To fix a water damaged phone, normally switching it off and putting it in a bowl of rice for a couple of days helps.

If it makes you feel better I 'broke' (they fixed it!) my work desk top in my first week by accidently whacking it with a big hole puncher I'd moved.

if you have airing cupboard - I left my watch in my pocket & it went through wash (pre wash & 40 degrees!) left it in the airing cupboard for a few days!

Stop putting power through them, turn them off etc before the liquid damages the circuits

Put them somewhere vaguely warm and in something absorbent and leave as long as possible

Thank you all. It is in front of the radiator. Dh seems to think the touch screen is what is damaged, so if we can turn that off it might be usable. I dint like the touch screen anyway.

I work in IT. It happens at least once a month in my company. Coffee does a number on the machines as it’s sticky as well. Your IT department will be used to it. It’s probably not the worst thing they’ll have come accross. (Shudders at memory of the the cat pee on laptop that was presented to us once)

VioletCharlotte · 10/10/2018 18:32

I wouldn't worry too much, IT know that accidents happen. I dropped mine recently and smashed the screen Blush

StealthPolarBear · 10/10/2018 20:29

Thanks. I was hoping the fact I have coffee weak and black would be good but it seems not :(

I tried it this morning. No good. I confessed to it. I harassed him all day to make arrangements to replace it. He harassed subcontractors and talked about getting me a temp replacement. I turned it on at lunchtime to try to save a couple of documents I'd saved on my desktop. It works fine Hmm. Keeping my fingers crossed
