Femfresh - what is the point

Can someone explain to me why special soap for “intimate areas” exists?

OP posts:
Bezalelle · 10/10/2018 15:36

Because women have been conditioned to believe that our minges are filthy and smelly.

TeddyIsaHe · 10/10/2018 15:37

Exactly what Bezalella said

sexnotgender · 10/10/2018 15:37

No idea. I’ve never bought it as don’t understand the point.

gamerchick · 10/10/2018 15:39

I use it, not because of the advertising. I just wanted to trust something because of being plagued with thrush or BV. Warm water on a flannel just doesn't do it for me before anyone starts.

It's been bloody bliss apart from when I ran out and bang... Ruddy thrush again.

My fanny seems to be happy with it at least Grin

Pebblespony · 10/10/2018 15:41

I get it and find it good.

IHaveBrilloHair · 10/10/2018 15:42

It's actually really gentle on my skin, as in my body skin, and although I know in theory the spray should be yuck, when you've been in hospital and unable to wash, it has a use.

thenightsky · 10/10/2018 15:45

I love the liquid soap. I use it as shower gel as its so lovely and gentle. Its the only shower gel that doesn't give me thrush and eczema.

Not used the other products in the range though.

MrsPear · 10/10/2018 16:04

I am sorry but any woman who says she or her fanny needs it has brought into misogynistic bullshit.

Read here

Then again what do I know I have {whispers} hair down there

gamerchick · 10/10/2018 16:07

Well I'm sorry, I'm not really arsed what other people think. *Notsorry

If my fanny is happy then so am I. It's a 1+1 thing for me Grin

StaffiesAndPonies · 10/10/2018 16:07

The point is for the company to make money.

Kemer2018 · 10/10/2018 16:08

Because womens flaps are only good if scented with product. Not eau naturel.
Ironic really, because regardless of flap smell and hairiness, they still can't wait to dive in.
Flaps drive men wild.....scented or not.

gamerchick · 10/10/2018 16:29

But it doesn't really have a scent, it's certainly not flowery.

Look I will give my money to any company who doesn't give me a scratty uncomfortable sponge. Whether it's laundry or soap.

Believe me I've worked through an extensive list of 'things to try'... It works and I'm keeping it. I don't give a toss what men like.

Believeitornot · 10/10/2018 16:31

Maybe if your bits are happy with it - it’s because the standard shower gel etc is too harsh for sensitive areas....

As I get older I’ve noticed I react badly to a lot of shower gels and shampoos etc. I’ve switched to soap bars. I bet fem fresh would be ok because it’s just a glorified sensitive shower gel.

It doesn’t have extra scrubbing powers.

Pebblespony · 10/10/2018 16:32

I have hair there too. And just because I want to use a certain product doesn't make me some kind of sell out to the 'man'.

gamerchick · 10/10/2018 16:34

I have hair there as well. Might give it a trim now and then Grin

I tried soap as well, mild, baby. It doesn't like any shower gels. I think I've just got a grumpy one as it gets older.

Believeitornot · 10/10/2018 16:35

I don’t use it by the way - I just stick to sensitive skin soaps. Sometimes I use just water but that actually requires a bit of er elbow grease to get any sweat away (same with any part of the body)

gamerchick · 10/10/2018 16:35

And I don't know 'why' it works, it's just good enough to know it does. It's really not a big deal. Wash yours how you want.

TheKitchenWitch · 10/10/2018 16:35

Ugh and what about that awful awful stuff that people put under their arms? Disgusting, we should all just leave our natural smells, not wash more than once a month. Anything else is just giving in to the patriachy.

Hmm
brookshelley · 10/10/2018 21:47

I should add context - my 60 something mum uses Femfresh wash religiously, takes it on holiday even. Also uses heavily scented pantyliners. She says regular soap “burns” when she washes her bits, which seems to me she is using way to much soap because I’ve certainly never put enough of anything down there to cause burning.

I think it’s got to be completely unnecessary.

OP posts:
bastardlyandmutley · 11/10/2018 13:09

It's a gentle wash for your bits that doesn't irritate like some shower gels do. It's not scented or aimed at those who want their fanjo to smell like the perfume counter at Boots.

As I am getting older I have phases where I get a bit sensitive and need to use something other than my usual wash gel. I have been known to buy this, though I reckon an unperfumed/gentle shower gel is pretty much the same thing.
