Washing dog shit shoes in the washing machine?!

Having a day from hell here which included stepping in a nice pile of fresh sloppy dog poo and then getting in my car so I’ve had to clean the pedals/ mats etc. However the shoes are covered in it and they’re converse so the bottom of them is a very grooved and not easy to clean and the shit is on the canvas. Can I put them in the washing machine on a hot wash or is that manky for future washes?

Side rant; I’m so fucking sick of cunty dog owners not picking up after their pets. I’ve had dog shit literally on my door step, right in front of my house... wtf is wrong with people.

I put my kids shitty shoes in the other day on a hot wash. Didn’t think any more about it!

I would give them a good hose down and spray with fabric cleaner then scrub.

Then put them in the washing machine.

Urgh shit in converse treads the worst, anyway i rinse them with a jug of water down the toilet then wash them in the machine .

Hose them down out the back garden and pop them in the wash with some laundry cleanser- don’t do too warm a wash, I did this with a pair of canvas shoes once and they bloody shrunk!

MrsJayy · 10/10/2018 11:21

I washed shitty shoes on a prewash then quick 40 just incase they shrunk

God I would

AfterSchoolWorry · 10/10/2018 11:31

No.

Rubber gloves, an old nail brush, hot water, kitchen roll. Throw all used water down an outside drain. Bag up used brush, kitchen roll, etc and bin.

Leave shoes sole up in the sun outside to dry.

Hot shower! Grin

AfterSchoolWorry · 10/10/2018 11:32

Bin gloves obviously too.

Mustang27 · 10/10/2018 11:40

Careful it's not really hot my friend did this and melted all the glue/adhesive that Holds the shoes together and they came out the machine in bits 😂.

I still would wash them in the machine but I don't think trainers are ever the same after being washedz

Do it out in the back garden or out on the street if you live in a flat.
