Low-lactose yogurt

I'm trying to low-carb but have a serious latte-ish and yogurt habit. Yes, I'm very rock'n'roll. I've started using Lactofree milk for my latte-ishes and am now wondering about the yogurt, which I make myself.

I don't think I can use Lactofree to make the yogurt, as it needs the sugars to convert to lactic acid. However, if I were to use ordinary whole milk, and then add lactase (tablet or drops) to the finished yogurt, do you think it would work its enzymy magic to reduce the lactose carbohydrate content?

This may sound a bit desperate but I've been low-carbing for a while and it's not having the impact on my weight that it had last time I needed to drop dress size (or two!), about ten years ago. The only differences I can think of are that I'm now post-menopausal and that I'm getting through significantly more lactose now.

Any yogurt sages, or chemists, out there who could advise?
