Please help!
I've been having intermittent nausea in the evenings and night for several months now.
A few weeks ago I had quite bad stomach pain in the night with diarrhoea and vomiting. I'm emetophobic so this was fairly traumatic!
Since then the night nausea has gotten much worse. I can hardly eat because most food sets it off. I was so hungry today I had some chips and beans earlier and some toast, and now I feel dreadful. It's making me so miserable.

I'm spending my nights having panic attacks in the bathroom.

I've been to the GP who has prescribed ranitidine, done full bloods (result not back yet) and referred me for a scan (I think of gallbladder?).

Has anyone else had these symptoms with gallbladder trouble?

Sounds like it could be gallbladder. I has an infection in mine and used to have very painful attacks after eating fatty foods.

Try to stick to a very bland low fat diet and get some Buscopan from the chemists as this will relieve the spasms.

My DH has similar symptoms at the moment and gp has said it's gastritis. Def not gallbladder as that's already gone, plus the nausea he gets is not like the intense pain he had with gallbladder attacks.

birdladyfromhomealone · 09/10/2018 21:28

I have gastritis diagnosed by endoscope and my symptoms were like yours.
I am now on 2x omprazole per day and starting to get better.
go and see your GP and good luck

Your gallbladder is on the righthand side of your body, more or less under the breast.

If it is a gallbladder problem, anything with fats will aggravate the pain. I had gallstones (the pain just came on one day, and was constant then until I stopped having fats (I had my gallbladder out).

I cut out all pastry, butter/margarine/oil, all cheeses, eggs, pies, curries, cakes, puddings, biscuits.

I ate only plain, simple food like fish/meat, potatoes, pasta, fruit and veg. I lost 2 stone in the process - in 4 months before my operation.

I had gallstones many years ago.
The pain started on the right side under the breast & progressed to the back feeling like a tight band around the body making it impossible to take a deep breath. Never had sickness & rarely diarrhoea.
Chips baked beans & toast, that’s a heavy meal to avoid.

Thanks all.

It's not so much the pain as the nausea and feeling of being full?

I don't wish to scare you but please seek medical advice again. It may be pancreatitis. I had intense pain and vomiting. Went to hospital a and e, and was diagnosed with pancreatitis. This was back in June and I only left hospital ten days ago. I'm now waiting to have my gallbladder removed, once my pancreas is able to cope with the op. Like I say I don't wish to scare you but it's a very nasty and painful illness.
