Kids' shoe sizing - Tu / Clarks

The last few pairs of shoes and boots I've bought for DD (8 years) have been from Sainsbury's Tu. The most recent pair that I got at the beginning of summer are a size 1.

I've seen a pair of boots on Clarks outlet that will be ideal for winter. I've got a proper Clarks foot measuring gauge, so measured her feet last night, and she's only coming up as a 12.5 in Clarks sizing.

I'm very confused by the discrepancy of sizing. Do Clarks come up that much bigger and/or Tu come up smaller?

I know that I could get her feet properly measured and shoes fitted in store, but she has ASD and sensory processing disorder, so it's easier to order online.

Shoes and clothes are always differently sized by different retailers.
I can wear a 14 from some shops, other shops I need an 18.

I think it depends on the style/cut too.

Don't get hung up on the shoe size, concentrate on buying shoes that fit.

Try looking at the European sizing. I've found that DD is currently a 5 in Clark's but only a 4 in her jojo pumps. They're both a 22 European size.

Thanks, I will look at the European sizes to see if they are closer.
