Inspired by another thread where posters recount their kids saying 'did you just assume my gender?'

Mine come out with 'it's not just a phase mum' when I query some bizarre action they're taking, (like eating grapes doused in honey) or 'you wanna 1v1 me mate?' when told to brush teeth/do homework and so on.

Are you being driven crazy with these memeisms?

I have had "did you assume my gender?" thrown my way by my 11yr old DS. had no idea it was a meme!

I reply with:

"Stop it.

Get some help."

Oh gosh all the time. "Chipotle is my life" is a big one. I can't think of all of them. And as soon as I get used to one, it's pronounced a "dead meme".

nevermind the kids, i often use the meme phrase "aint nobody got time for that!"

I do the same back but the Vines I know are much older so they roll their eyes at me.

I love mumsnet. I am going to veer between YetAnotherUser’s Stop It, Get Some Help and unilaterally declaring their meme a dead meme as inspired by LikeAMeteorite. They will be flummoxed by a confident assertions from me that it’s dead. I now can’t wait for them to do it again.

Oh yes, "Ain't nobody got time for that" is actually a favourite of mine, as is "Damn, Daniel, back at it again with the...."
