Well, at least one good thing has come out of the Brett Kavanaugh debacle....

....Nobody will ever be able to say again with a straight face that "false accusations destroy men's lives"

This was an accusation that nobody even tried to deny was true-and he's a fucking Supreme Court Judge.

Ha! Yes.
Where is the outrage about this? Maybe I am just missing it, but I feel more outraged than is reflected by the BBC. How can Trump say that he was proven innocent? How can the president just say this without a trial?! Angry

GunpowderGelatine · 09/10/2018 20:07

Oh but they will Bertrand.

the amount of times I've said on MN "false accusations - or even true accusations - don't ruin lives. Look at Mike Tyson, Donald Trump, Cliff Richard etc" some slope skulled halfwit will pipe up "oh not those men, the regular run of the mill men's lives get destroyed though. It happened to my brothers friends cousin's mate, she regretted shagging him so said he raped her, she even admitted it"

"Oh so you were there when she admitted she'd perverted the course of justice?"

"No I know she did though"

"How?"

"Not telling. But she did"

"Was she convicted?"

"No because our local force have a policy not to convict for that because the system is out to get men"

"Yes it does convict. Were you in the room when this consensual sex took place?"

"No. But he said he didn't do it"

"Oh well if he said he didn't me mustn't have - because we all know real rapists are in the habit of being truthful"

"Why do you hate men? I feel sorry for your son"

As long as we live in a rape culture this will happen until the dawn of time. Germaine Greer said women can't afford to know how much men hate them. She's right - I honestly have come across some that would probably witness a rape and think of 20 ways that it's not really a rape.

The policy bit stated above did actually come from someone on MN BTW. They were asked numerous tones to link to the policy or name the force and refused. Funny that

This is just too scary.
And I thought Handmaid's Tale was fiction not a fucking documentary...

gunpowder

I was on that thread

Apparently i had to read all 43 forces policy as i couldnt even have a clue as to which force Grin

I think it was found in the end...but the policy did not say what they thought the policy said

MyBrexitUnicornDied · 09/10/2018 20:48

I wish you were right but I think gunpowder is closer to the mark.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 09/10/2018 20:49

Yup

gunpowder has it spot on

pallisers · 09/10/2018 20:52

I know. But I got that message first time around with Clarance Thomas and have educated my daughters accordingly. I really didn't need them to appoint another one to the supreme court just to drive it home.

GunpowderGelatine · 09/10/2018 21:28

Ah So you were @Rufusthebewilderedreindeer - was there actually a policy?! Yes I remember being told that if I was better behaved she'd have given me the policy link but because I was such a meanie pants she wasn't going to Grin

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 09/10/2018 21:32

Oh gosh i'd so like to brag that she told me but I can't Grin

Im fairly positive that there was a policy or a statement at least...but she had it completely and utterly wrong

Similar happened on another thread 75 page document...and it didnt say what they thought it said Grin, they were much more helpful and told me the page!!

I tend to believe that if they won't give you the policy or a link to their own relevant posts that they are a lying fucker
