Mine is a total night owl.
I am not
We have to reach a compromise on what time he goes as it’s killing me staying awake until he’s tired!

DD goes into her room at 9 on a school night with no screens, but then reads or draws until she is tired, which is usually around 10 but sometime 10.30. No fixed time at weekends, we usually all watch a film and go to bed after that.

Week days - bed about 9, light out by 9.30 ish.
Half hour later on the weekend.

FauxFox · 08/10/2018 23:07

School nights 9.30 but she can read til whenever (no screens upstairs) weekends varies but usually in bed by 10.30. DD is a night owl and regularly reads til gone midnight... I did too at her age.

Well, I’m pretty sure he’s still awake now but is in bed. Got into bed at around 10.30, will probably be asleep by 11.30 and then awake at 7.30. In an ideal world I would love it if he (and me!) were asleep by 10.30 but it doesn’t ever happen.

Flyingpompom · 08/10/2018 23:19

Between 9.30 and 10.
Weekends vary, if we're out we're out, they can stay up to the wee small hours with the adults. If we're home, probably 10.30, maybe 11 if we're watching a film.

hmmwhatatodo · 08/10/2018 23:20

Just checked and he’s actually asleep now but wasn’t 20 mins ago.

12yo 9-9:30, tough ended up being 10:39, tonight as he was so restless.

14yo won't go until after 11.these days. Was 10, a year ago. Luckily I'm a night owl, too.

makingmiracles · 08/10/2018 23:22

Between 9.30-10pm on school nights, up between 6.45-7am and on fri/sat nights all depends if we are out the following day, if nothing planned then up till about 1am, if we’re off out the next day then bed about 11/11.30 latest.

Legageddon · 08/10/2018 23:24

Oh wow to getting them in bed by half nine! Not a chance here.
I turn his lights out about 11-11.30 but he’s never tired and would happily read until 12 or 1 if left.
He gets up at 6.45 so it doesn’t seem anywhere near enough sleep to me for a teenager.

We all get up at 6:30 on weekdays.
14 yr old normally 9:30 & 10:30 at weekends.
11 yr old normally 8:30 & 9:30 at weekends.
