I'm currently thinking about baby names and I was wondering what your honest opinions about the name Christopher are. Thanks Grin

I used to babysit for a Christopher who was nicknamed Tiffa/Tiff

I worked with an old guy called Tiff. I could not think for the life of me what it was short for. And nobody else seemed to know either!!!

IdaBWells · 09/10/2018 02:58

I hear Christie used in Ireland but maybe would seem too feminine? Although Kit seems more feminine to me.

brizzledrizzle · 09/10/2018 04:00

I love it.

Love it. Classic but not over used like Henry for example.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 09/10/2018 06:34

Tiff can be short for Timothy.

I quite like Christopher, love
Kit. Prefer Christian though.

foxyknoxy30 · 09/10/2018 06:34

That was actually going to be what I called my son but then I met and married a christopher and he would defo hate topher

Jamiesons · 09/10/2018 06:35

Not keen. It’s a bit wet. I like Christian though.

RoseMartha · 09/10/2018 06:36

I like it

DorothyHarris · 09/10/2018 06:38

I love it, I have a two year old Christopher and I've not met another.

Minniemountain · 09/10/2018 07:01

Great name. Easy to say and to shorten.

EmmaStone · 09/10/2018 09:22

I like it too and am married to one. Love Kit as a nickname.

LiquoricePickle · 09/10/2018 09:37

I love it.

ARandomPoster · 09/10/2018 10:31

Christopher Matthew is one of my all- time favourite names.

BabiaMajora · 09/10/2018 12:04

@ARandomPoster Those are DS1 and 2’s names - you have great taste.😄

amusedbush · 09/10/2018 12:15

I like it. I'm not one for yoo-neek or overly trendy, American-sounding names so things like Christopher are right up my street.

tinytemper66 · 09/10/2018 12:46

I often call him KIssifur after the bear cartoon.

surferjet · 09/10/2018 12:52

I don’t like it sorry. It gets shortened to Chris which is too girly. It’s in the same league as Lesley.
I just don’t like unisex names.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 09/10/2018 12:59

The Christopher I knew best was a shining example of the name, and I wept buckets when he left us.

sue51 · 09/10/2018 13:02

A classic. Never met a bad Christoper.

MrsGB2225 · 09/10/2018 13:02

I love Christopher but don’t like Chris or Kit.

Mushroomsarehorrible · 09/10/2018 13:36

Despite loving most 'classic' boys names, Christopher is a bit of a boring, 'wet' name. Most of the people I know called 'Chris' are just that, a bit boring and wet.

Sorry Grin

LadyMacbethWasMisunderstood · 09/10/2018 13:56

It’s my fathers name. I love it. But no one but his mother has ever called him by it. To everyone it is Chris. And she is sadly now very long gone so it’s been years since I heard him called that.

LadyMacbethWasMisunderstood · 09/10/2018 13:57

And oh...my dad is a brilliant Christopher. The best of men.

swampytiggaa · 09/10/2018 14:03

My boy is Christopher. Also known as chriffer after his sisters attempts to say his name 😁

ARandomPoster · 09/10/2018 14:26

@BabiaMajora we both have great taste Grin
I also love the name Thomas Alexander.
