We are going to the theatre in half term and would like to go for a meal beforehand.

It would need to be somewhere with a good vegetarian option and not fancy.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

You're not far from China Town or Soho there, what sort of food Do you like. Chinatown has some lovely and cheap Chinese restaurants, Soho has Italian, Pollo is cheap and cheerful, what theatre are you going to, Shaftesbury Ave is a very long road.

My favourite is Byron!! Joke with my friends that I always want to go there pre-theatre.

There are two interesting Veggie Indian places in the vicinity depending on which end of Shaftesbury Ave ie you need to be at. Sagar which is in Coventry Garden or Saravanaa Bhavan on Charing Criss road.

There is also always China Town. If you want something a bit different one of the Dumpling restaurants is always good.

I guess it depends on how adventurous your kids are - there are kids I would take to those places and others where I would definitely stick to a burger or pizza!!

There are literally thousands of restaurants in one square mile of Shaftesbury Avenue. It’s pretty much only restaurants all round there!

You’ve got Soho, Leicester Sq (avoid), China Town, Covent Garden, Shaftesbury itself, Charing Cross and Trafalgar Sq, Mayfair, Shepherds Market all within spitting distance of each other and then Fitzrovia on the other side of Soho.

You’ll literally be in the epicentre of the restaurant capital of the country!

Just walk about till you spot somewhere you like the look of (I’d personally wander round Soho).

THE rainforest cafe isn’t there, although not sure about vegetarian options, and depends on the ag3 of children.

I took my 7, 11 and 14 year old in the summer holidays, oldest enjoyed the food, girls loved the animatronics and environment

The rainforest cafe is there (stupid auto correct)
