This is my one year olds back, the red dots have little raised lumps on them, what does everyone think? rash or chicken pox?

I don't think that looks like chickenpox. They usually have little pus filled blisters on them. DD, 5, has cp right now so I'm quite familiar!

Not sure what it is though, so not much help, sorry

oh god! random rashes make me so anxious, stuck between ringing 111 now or taking to a pharmacist in the morning, she's been perfectly fine in herself so i'm leaning towards the pharmacist in the morning

Certainly looks like it could be the start of chickenpox, they start off like this and fill with fluid over a few hours. You will know by morning!

I’m not in any way medically trained, so don’t let this replace real advice, but they don’t look like CP to me. More like insect bites or hives (I didn’t zoom in). My younger DC is the rashiest child in history (CP, scarlet fever, roseola twice, random viral rashes several times). This was my child’s CP on day 3 of the rash.

NamelessEnsign · 08/10/2018 21:37

Oh! And you probably know this, but don’t give ibuprofen if it is CP, or until it is confirmed it isn’t.

They look more like insect bites to me.

BooseysMom · 08/10/2018 21:48

Don't think they're CP either. Mine had about 7 spots when pre school said it was CP and they were nothing like that. They were tiny spots with a clear head on. I don't think they were CP as there were hardly any and they didn't burst. Those look more like bites. Does he have a fever? Good luck x

Could it be washing powder? i've recently changed brands, she doesn't have a temp or seem ill in any way, i only noticed when i got her undressed for her bath!
