Just started a job as a welfare assistant at school. Everyone lovely and getting on with all the staff except the deputy head.
He just always seems to be there when I cock up (which is not often at all) or he manages to find something I have not noticed such as a child who keeps turning round to talk at lunch or he will step in and tell a kid to stop running when it has been on the tip of my tongue to do it mayself.
He will make a big deal over it and give me a look, I have also noticed him looking at me from across the dinner hall with a disapproving look.
The other staff I work will say I am doing a brill job and have settling in well but he always makes me feel useless.
When he actually speaks to me it’s to put me down.
For example I have been there since September but as I am only there for an hour and a half a day I have not got to know all the kids names yet. I am nearly there but not quite. One of the kids led their coat on the yard with a name in so I went through to year six which he teaches and asked it it was anyone’s coat, one of the kids said it’s “Emma’s” coat and I said oh Thankyou what year is Emma in? and he barked “year five you should know that by now”
This was ok front of the kids. The other day he had a go as some of the kids were taking ages to eat lunch.
As I said the other staff including the head are very happy with my work but I just kind of feel he has it in for me and as I said if I do make a mistake it’s always in front of him
