Ideas for New Years Eve in London with a 11 and 14 year old

None of us are too bothered about the fireworks, me especially as I don't like them unless from inside or at a distance, but we're wondering if there are any other central options aside from the fancy indoor parties with a great view but at an eye-watering price. A budget version would be ideal, don't really need the canapés and champagne!

We don't even need to go to a party as such, happy to just do some other things(maybe a show/film) then see some fireworks from a distance (or indoors) at midnight.

We've seen that Hampstead Heath is a good free place for viewing at a distance but it's a bit far out, or is it? (clueless). I would like to see the fireworks (even if it has to be from a distance) as I don't want to go all the way to London (from the south west) and not see them, if that makes sense.

Anyone have any suggestions/tips?

I expect people are confused by what you want.

True, it's a bit contradictory. I meant we aren't bothered about going to the main display standing in the crowds along the Thames but would quite like to see it (preferably from a distance or inside)as it would be a shame not to.
Unfortunately all the indoor-viewing venues are super expensive parties, we are just looking for an alternative.
Or an outdoor one that's not too far out.
