Family meal, no kids, about 10 people. Need something reasonably priced. All reasonably happy to eat anything and reasonably priced alcohol! Any suggestions.

Howies? Victoria Street or Waterloo Place, both are nice!

La P'tite Folie on Randolph Place. Vittoria on George IV Bridge, or The Outsider just along from there. Vittoria is probably the cheapest of all of those.

Not sure about reasonably priced but I really like Angels and Bagpipes

celtiethree · 08/10/2018 19:35

Or The Devils Advocate - though it’s quite small you’d need to check out their max table size

PeridotCricket · 08/10/2018 19:36

I liked the look of A& bagpipes too but would be at v top end of budget...

Dh and his dad paying for everyone so can’t bo too pricey.

The Lioness of Leith on Duke Street

PeridotCricket · 08/10/2018 19:41

A good Indian restaurant might work..

Another vote for Howies for groups

LaDameAuxLicornes · 08/10/2018 19:44

Mother India is nice and not too expensive if you're looking for Indian. Kind of like Indian tapas.

PeridotCricket · 08/10/2018 19:45

We’ve been to Bowie’s before and it was v good.

The Walnut - top of Leith; Ottro - west end towards Haymarket

YesIDidNameChangeForThis · 08/10/2018 19:47

Zucca (beside Usher Hall) is excellent.

LaDameAuxLicornes · 08/10/2018 19:49

Just thought of another one. Beirut: nice reasonably-priced Lebanese place, and they do BYOB so potentially quite a lot cheaper for alcohol as well.

PenCreed · 08/10/2018 20:01

Pomegranate at the top of Leith Walk is also good for Lebanese!

I mostly want to go to all these restaurants now...

If your ok with Indian look at Dishoom the food is sooooo good and great atmosphere

PeridotCricket · 08/10/2018 20:15

There’s a dishoom? I love dishoom! Is it very noisy at night, only been for breakfast and lunch..

OP posts:
celtiethree · 08/10/2018 20:18

I’ve been at night it didn’t seem too noisy but then again we may have been producing the noise!!

AllStevesPals · 08/10/2018 20:20

Remember Dishoom in Edinburgh only do chicken leg/ thigh (no breast meat) so may not suit everyone - it's also busy and noisy at night.

Khushi's is excellent if you're after Indian, just a note that it's BYOB though.

justtypicalme · 08/10/2018 20:21

Another vote for mother India cafe. Booking essential!

marmaladejar · 08/10/2018 20:25

Hanams!
