Red Cocktail Dress Help

TheCircleFan75 · 08/10/2018 16:40

DP & I have been invited to a drinks evening in a few weeks time. The dress code is Black for the men & Red for the ladies.
There are 50 guests & I haven’t met anyone before and know I feel out of my comfort zone.

Red does not suit me as it tends to ‘drain’ me.
I’ve had a look on line but can’t find anything I like so appealing for some help !

I’m 47, a size 6 & 5’5”.
Also do you think Berry could pass as red ?

I'm sure that the Style & Beauty www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty MNers will be able to help if you re-post over there!

Have a look online at Debenhams I had to order "nice" dresses for Dd and I to go to a posh dinner. Dd had a lovely dark red colour one with short lace sleeves. This one. www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_33678+07584520_-1

There are some fine red cocktail dresses on amazon in really nice darker berry reds too, depending on your budget, they start from around £25.
Search cocktail dress and filter by colour red.

I have recently been cocktails dress shopping. If you are looking for plus size cocktail dresses look, regalgoldboutique is plenty to choose from. It has a lot of beautiful sleeveless, cocktail dresses with unique style.

Seriously, try Style and Beauty, they're incredibly helpful and knowledgeable over there.

And supportive as well.

Or go with a colour you feel comfortable in and use red accessories? I've seen that before. I went to a ball once when women were supposed to wear white which, lets face it, doesn't suit many of us! There were lots and lots of us in black and white, blue and white etc etc.
