Hello Everyone

I am currently working as a nurse in the NHS. I am about to go on Maternity Leave but the job I am now doesn't suit me after having the child so I would like to get another job closer to me in another NHS hospital. Do I still need to pay back my maternity leave or because it still NHS it counts as returning to work? Anyone with this similar experience?

Many Thanks

If it is for the same trust, then you could transfer and not need to pay mat pay back but if it’s for another trust altogether then you would either have to return to your previous place of work for 3 months or pay back some may pay if you don’t return to that trust.

As long as it’s nhs it’s fine. Doesn’t need to be same trust. I’ve known several people move trusts after mat leave and is been fine

As long as it's nhs it's fine.

If it's not nhs you would need to return for 3 mths before you leave.

I think as long as it's NHS, you won't have to pay back anything, but you need to show proof. I've attached an page from my trust's maternity policy, i've been told most NHS trusts are similar in policy so i hope this one is clear enough x
