I was quite enjoying it till she said 'would of' 🙈

A few too many gruesome killings for Sunday teatime, imo, but I enjoyed it otherwise.

I hope one day we get a Dr Who very much like Grace. I don't think they could keep her as a companion because she might have put the Doctor into the shade a bit.

Not only a giant tagine, but one with a giant bloke inside it!

Sad about Grace but from the photos of the companions you just knew she was toast from the start.

I loved it. Loved Matt Smith, found the David Tennant and Billie Piper in love storyline annoying. Peter Capaldi was fun but I think Jodie nailed it. Waiting to hear if my autistic nephew superfan enjoyed it too.

Wasn't the teeth thing creepy?!

TeenTimesTwo · 08/10/2018 14:48

DD2, 14, who has never watched it before loved it.

I liked the less convoluted plot.

I'd like to see the dyspraxia not just being motor skills but eg not liking textures, insensitivity to cold, whatever. Not hoping for issues with executive functioning as Dr Who probably 'needs' side kicks who can reason quite well for plot purposes.

BalloonSlayer · 08/10/2018 16:01

We enjoyed it. I thought she was doing a David Tennant impression.

I was a bit Hmm over a guy phoning the police to say he is in the woods with a big purple thing that just appeared and they send a young trainee female officer all on her own to examine it.

WheelyCote · 08/10/2018 16:17

I've never been a big fan of DR who....the plots have always been a bit ummm daft.

But I liked David tenant and I like the new actress.

I'm in for watching the new adze who

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 08/10/2018 16:20

I enjoyed it. I used to love Dr Who but haven't really understood it for ages.😊

I think it's going to be great.

3rdrockfromthesun · 08/10/2018 16:31

I was bored. Went to make my tea. Don't know how the dyspraxia storyline is going to work (speaking as someone who has it). Think they would have been better off with something like Aspergers...

FootFlapperage · 08/10/2018 17:24

I enjoyed it, even tho it was a bit clunky

ARandomPoster · 08/10/2018 17:41

I loved it. Thought JW did a great job. She has huge shoes to fill and did it brilliantly.

We decided dd was old enough to watch it for the first time, and JW injected enough humour to dilute that gruesome tooth-faced alien and make the entire programme fun and watchable.

Dd came home from school today and asked if it was on again tonight, so there is one new fan thanks to Jodie's incarnation of this iconic character. I can't wait for next week's episode.

ErrolTheDragon · 08/10/2018 17:45

Cutting the fearsome alien down to size as 'Tim Shaw', the cheating loser, was good.
Deaths of a brother and two nice grandparents in one episode (plus the drunk salad thrower) was maybe a bit much for some young 'uns I'd have thought?
