Joy by Dior versus Jean Patou Joy

Just musing on a lazy Sunday afternoon about how Dior have managed to snaffle "Joy" when a perfume already exists by that name.

When I was 16 my boyfriend of the time bought me the tiniest phial of Joy that you could find. God it was gorgeous and I have hankered after it ever since but at £120 for 75 mls I am going to have to win the lottery.

Anyhow cheeky Dior or no?

I wondered about this. And Joy by Jean Patou was known as "the costliest perfume in the world", I expect the Dior one is far more affordable?

Also using vintage footage of Marilyn Monroe to advertise J'adore was a bit when MM was known for wearing Chanel No5.

My mum wears both, (the Jean Patou one is her absolute favourite!) and it's never occurred to me that one stole it off the other! Now I’m pondering it
