Is this okay? To go away on holiday for two weeks (Easter hols) when exams are in late May? If we have WiFi for most of it and can take books etc. Or is it very foolish??

DD is in the same boat and she would have a nervous breakdown if I tried to take her on holiday in Easter with her final exams looming. She is extremely diligent and spends far too much time (in my opinion) studying and although I think she would benefit from the time out, she will want to have her head down and be studying the whole holiday and beyond.

She took books away with her in the May holiday in the GCSE year and was found revising sat in the harbour or by the beach. She got the time in, but feels that she didn't do as good a job as she could have if she'd been at home.

Which is a shame as I'd love to go to Italy with them but want to avoid the summer hols due to the heat.

How old is your other dc? I would be tempted to go before school holidays and take younger one out of school (if in year 9 or below)
