Has anyone else noticed a change in the tone of the Daily Mail's reporting re Brexit?

Just want to stress that I don't actually go out and purchase the DM, but reading the sidebar of shame is a guilty pleasure of mine...

One thing Ive noticed recently is that they've changed their stance on Brexit slightly. They were quite rabidly pro leave around the time of the referendum and until fairly recently, but now they're more skewed towards a remain viewpoint. Yesterday there was a story about the governments contignancy plan for stockpiling medicine etc if there's no deal. This is getting the commenters underneath foaming at the mouth with some saying they'll never read the DM again.

What's their game?

When it all goes tits up they want to be able to say “I told you so”.

BehemothPullsThePeasantsPlough · 07/10/2018 13:05

Simple answer: new editor.

ManicUnicorn · 07/10/2018 13:08

Oh, didn't realise they had a new editor. They've not used the word 'remoaner' for ages come to think of it, and at one time that was their favourite saying.

MaryBoBary · 07/10/2018 13:14

Although now I think happy crappy is a much better way to describe it!

SugarandVinegar · 07/10/2018 13:16

The pro Remain editor of the Mail on Sunday has now taken over the weekly Daily Mail.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 07/10/2018 13:17

i think the mail on sunday always had a bit more of a remain stance but i could be wrong.

maxthemartian · 07/10/2018 13:34

Paul Dacre has been replaced by Geordie Greig.

GirlsBlouse17 · 07/10/2018 14:54

At least the BBC are consistently biased for remain
