If I set up a standing order from my account to someone else does it go in their account the same day it leaves mine?

It should do, yes. But if the 'day' falls on a weekend, it will go on the Monday, not the Friday.

I don't think you can set a weekly standing order. I might be wrong, but i thought had to be a certain date each month.

You can definitely set a weekly standing order, I have a couple set up for various things.

Yes you can definitely set up a weekly standing order, I did it for my child minder.
