Picking sloes

Do you think it's the right time of year yet, down South? Will they be ripe enough yet? We really want to make sloe gin this year and it's a beautiful day out.

Perfect time down south , I picked over a kilo and they are now sat in a Demi John with sugar and gin .
Roll on Christmas 😁

After the first frost is the absolute best time, but you can simulate that with a night in the freezer. They are best pricked when frozen anyway (less messy) Smile

Traditionally, they are picked after the first frost of the season but you can pick them now and give them a diy frost
