Do you think it's the right time of year yet, down South? Will they be ripe enough yet? We really want to make sloe gin this year and it's a beautiful day out.

Perfect time down south , I picked over a kilo and they are now sat in a Demi John with sugar and gin .

After the first frost is the absolute best time, but you can simulate that with a night in the freezer. They are best pricked when frozen anyway (less messy)
