Really struggling right now

My daughter has hip dysplasia and had her operation just over 2 weeks ago and is in a hip spica cast.

She's moving about everywhere fine but she can never be left alone and she just doesn't sleep, obviously because she can't get comfy.

I really wish that I could be in her place because it must be so awful for her but I'm really starting to struggle. I'm really down and completely exhausted. I'm sure this is just because of the lack of sleep but it is still really stressful and I just want to cry Sad

My niece had this and I really feel for you. It's very hard. My Dad built her a special chair which had a pull down part so she could sit in it and draw....it was really rough looking but he'd made it so it could be wheeled....like a mini highchair on wheels I suppose.

My sister would prop her in it so she could feel part of the rest of the house.

Have you got any support at all? If not can I suggest you call these people

www.home-start.org.uk/

They're an amazing organisation there just to help people with children who need extra pair of hands.

How old is she? My dd was in a hip spica when she was 6 months old so not really moving. But I remember how frustrating it was (for her and me) that she could only by laying down or upright. Fitting her in the buggy was a nightmare! How long is she in it for?

Ajas yeah I've seen those tables they look really good! I have support but will look at the organisation thank you

Orange - she's 18 months old. She had just started to walk properly before her op which I feel makes it worse. She's in it for a minimum of 4 months, only another 14 weeks to go Sad
