Best Stop off points with Motorway travel (South)

I didn't know where else to post this, so if I should move it elsewhere, let me know and I'll sort it

We're travelling to Devon soon, and hope to leave early evening. I wanted to know a couple of stop off points, as we will have DC with us.
Once we leave the M25, we'll be on the M3, coming off at junction 8 to the A303.
I've had a look myself, I just wondered if anyone of any nice places to stop.

We travel regularly from Kent to Devon. If you have National Trust membership then Stourhead is lovely,
As is Lytes Carey Manor. There is also a lovely bakery/ coffee shop in Amesbury just before Stonehenge.

@ladylinda52 - we do have a National trust, yes. Do you know the name of the coffee shop at all please?

Stourhead looks like a fab place to stop off.
Has anyone eaten there? I'm reading mixed reviews on that part.

The coffee shop is called Reeve- its within a baker's shop on the Main Street. Stourhead has fairly limited 'hot meal ' options, but is good for soup and sandwiches, or coffee and cake! It also has a lovely farm shop in the grounds.

Montecute is also signposted off the A303 and isn't very far.

Although if you are leaving early evening they won't be open. I'm not sure anywhere will be except for the Starbucks service areas along the route.
