What job could I potentially do?

I can’t do anything that requires telephone work as I’m deaf.

I also can’t do anything that requires heavy lifting or being on my feet all day as I have back problems.

So therefore I need something that I can be sat down for and face to face interactions.

I did use to work in retail but I left my job after I had my first child and I haven’t been back yet. My health has declined a lot since then and I notice now, many retail places have removed their chair behind checkouts.

I live in a largish town and don’t drive.

Any ideas?

Thank you

Hospital guide? Not sure if they are paid though.

Something like bank cashier? Involves sitting and would utilise the skills that you gained in retail.

Are you qualified for anything? I was thinking bookkeeping might suit you, you don't really have to talk to anyone to do it , it can be all through email.

If you have ongoing health problems employers are obliged to accommodate within reason so don't assume they would not provide a chair. There will be desk jobs at entry level in admin and office, have you tried a local employment agency?

Only qualifications I have is in animal care....kinda useless now Grin

Bank is an idea. Thank you. I’ll have to look into it

I work in retail and have at times needed a chair for health reasons. Employers must make 'reasonable adjustments' to allow you to work. How about archivist (something I'd love to do, not for everyone)!
