Turning off ‘click’ sound when taking a picture on iPhone

I disabled the ‘click’ sound when taking pictures on my iPhone ages ago.

However, for some reason, today the ‘click’ sound has re-emerged. And I cannot find how to disable it again.

I’ve tried ‘settings ‘, under both ‘camera’ and ‘notifications ‘ / but no joy.

I don’t want to disable all sound / volume otherwise.

Any help gratefully received!

try turning your phone to silent when taking a picture

Thanks - I guess I’ll have to do that. Just a bit annoying as ages ago I worked out how to disable the camera click while leaving sound otherwise remaining and now can’t retrieve those steps.

Googled it and with iPhones in some countries apparently the camera click remains even with the sound switched off as it’s the law or something that digital photography is audible
