We (ds (13), dd(10)and I ) are really bored, the weather is grey, drizzly and crap and we are at a loss as to what to do this afternoon.
What do you all do at the weekends when the weather is crappy and during the winter?

What do you normally do? Just adjust your clothing and do the same! Wrap up warm / wear waterproofs and get outside.

madvixen · 06/10/2018 14:39

Risk/monopoly marathons accompanied by regular breaks for hot chocolate!

We love going to Zoos in the rain as they tend to be quiet and the animals tend to be more active. We just bundle up in warm clothes and waterproof boots.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 06/10/2018 14:55

Usual stuff really, walk the dog, Parkrun, cleaning, iPad, film, play in bedrooms etc. The only thing they don't do is call for neighbours kids to play outside.

MiddlingMum · 06/10/2018 15:40

Wellies, waterproofs and a long walk, followed by some home baking and a big bowl of soup.

As my mother always said, you won't dissolve if it's raining.

megletthesecond · 06/10/2018 15:42

Parkrun then home. I can't be mooching around in the cold and wet for the sake of it. Would rather get a run out of the way then slob about at home.

toolazytothinkofausername · 06/10/2018 15:42

Too much screen time Blush

kaytee87 · 06/10/2018 15:44

Cinema, swimming?

IggyAce · 06/10/2018 15:45

Wrapped up warm and enjoyed a bracing walk along the sea front this morning. DS even had an ice cream.
At home board games, jigsaw, baking, movie afternoon, reading and screen time.

Kemer2018 · 06/10/2018 15:47

Screen time. Homework. Housework.

EvaHarknessRose · 06/10/2018 15:53

Hmm, I’m currently rearranging the kitchen cupboards so dh will be flummoxed when he gets home. Can you pay them to do some spring cleaning?

wendz86 · 06/10/2018 16:04

Well apparently I’m silly enough to go to soft play which is mayhem .
We have been playing board games and watching films till now .
Was going to go to library but will do that tomorrow now .

We regularly go bowling and for a pizza out in the Winter
One of the days of the weekend every weekend during the colder months we get a big joint of meat and have a big roast and take our time cooking it then in the evening cook jacket potatoes in the log burner for supper with baked beans cooked in a saucepan on top and just add grated cheese or we make cheese on toast with a mini raclette on the log burner and make flat breads for the bread on top of the log burner, all fun activities as well as food. We also play a lot of board games.

EscapeToTheMoon · 06/10/2018 18:42

Mine play football in all weathers and living where i do, well its wet and windy most of the winter. Just go out! I do, or id never go.

TillyVonMilly · 06/10/2018 19:08

Get outside, wrap up warm walk to the park, or better still woods if you live near any, call for hot chochlate and cake if funds allow or homemade if not. Bake bread, play board games. Smile

Inexperiencedandperplexed · 06/10/2018 19:09

I always take my two bowling.

I sit with a coffee and watch. They play. Win win

Fairylea · 06/10/2018 19:15

We looked round the local pet / aquatic centre which even dd aged 15 really enjoyed. Free! And then home and basically glued to iPads and tv the rest of the day. Oh well. Sometimes you just have days like that. Tomorrow we’re going to a forest park so will bung on the cold weather clothes and just go for it!

MadMaryBoddington · 06/10/2018 19:22

We are big fans of board games and jigsaws by the fire.

Blankiefan · 06/10/2018 19:56

There are some great (free) museums near us that you can lose hours in.

MegBusset · 06/10/2018 19:59

Kids play video games and watch ridiculous people on YouTube
Board games
Baking
Reading
Stomp round the park
Library / coffee shop in town
Bowling / cinema / Quasar once in a while

MegGriffin · 06/10/2018 21:26

We played badminton today at the local leisure centre.

Babymamamama · 08/10/2018 11:31

Dd and I like to get extra cosy on the sofa when it's grim outside. Duvets get brought into the living room and candles and we watch bake off, the voice or whatever we like on catch up. We are usually very active/outdoorsy which makes the odd cosy day seem a real treat. Hot chocolate is obligatory too.

beclev24 · 10/01/2019 20:08
