..... so I have the house to myself Grin

Obviously I'm going to change the sheets, and encourage the cats to sleep on the bed. And I'll be taking the daughters out for cocktails and dinner next Friday.

How else should I treat myself? What would you do?

I had this last week - bliss.

I did crisps, chocolates & wine one night.

Chinese another & wine again

Dinner & drinks another

& repeat. Grin

maras2 · 06/10/2018 10:38

I'd be preparing divorce papers. Smile

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 06/10/2018 11:27

Why?

HemanOrSheRa · 06/10/2018 11:31

Ooh. How fantastic! I wish my DP would do this. I have to make do with him working odd shift patterns Grin.

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 06/10/2018 11:33

maras2, bit unnecessary.

mimibunz · 06/10/2018 11:34

What a nice treat! Definitely spoil yourself with anything you wouldn’t if your DH was around. For me it’s a KFC and the Sound of Music! Grin

Omgineedanamechange · 06/10/2018 11:36

Oooo, jealous. Heating up to thermo nuclear temperatures, takeaway, wine and chocolate.

MrsJayy · 06/10/2018 11:38

Whatever films / tv programmes he hates get theeself on the sofa and get them watched

Justanotheruser01 · 06/10/2018 11:38

@maras2 bit extreme?!

CakeNinja · 06/10/2018 11:40

Ahh I love when dp is away!! Obviously for me this means I’m home with the dc but we have a lovely time without him.
Just for clarity, we have a lovely time when he’s home too but it’s nice not to have to take an extra person into consideration when making decisions about absolutely anything!
And I love having the bed to myself because I can wriggle and stretch out as much as I want. Heaven!
Also, I can eat what I want but crucially WHEN I WANT IT! He does most of the cooking and he ponces over it forever. I cook when I’m hungry and eat before I get hangry Grin

MarthasGinYard · 06/10/2018 11:41

Why do you wait for DH's away to have 'wine and chocolate' Confused

PinkHeart5914 · 06/10/2018 11:42

Dh goes away with his friends for a couple of weekends a year and I do the same with my friends, we both enjoy the other being away for a few days.

I’d also:
Buy some very nice bubble bath and take a bottle of cava/champagne in with you!

Face mask, paint nails, order take away, open the gin

Coffee shop, cake, read a book

Eat food he doesn’t like so you don’t cook often

MrsJayy · 06/10/2018 11:45

I am sure the Op has Wine and chocolate when her husband is there it is the novelty of having the house/tv/food to yourself thats is the treat

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 06/10/2018 11:53

Of course wine & chocolate when dh is there. However when he’s not there I buy nicer wine & chocolate than normal.

ForalltheSaints · 06/10/2018 12:09

Not watch any tv you do not want to watch.
Enjoy not waiting for the bathroom.
Eat the food only you like.

Omgineedanamechange · 06/10/2018 14:32

I have wine and choc when DH is there, but you have to share when he’s home obvs.

ZanyMobster · 06/10/2018 14:52

Starfish across the bed without having to squish up for the cats and DH, watch soppy films that I can full on sob at Grin

MrTumblesSpottyHag · 06/10/2018 17:06

I watch rom coms and order dominos.
Have a lovely long bath without him needing a poo halfway through 🙄
Tidy the house and it stays tidy.

Lambbone · 07/10/2018 12:04

I'm going to the pictures by myself this afternoon, and will be back in good tine to watch Dr Who. In my pyjamas. With a large gin.
