Who is waiting for The London Marathon ballot results Monday?

I ran this year, and it was amazing. However, I entered the ballot for next year and then got scared and called to withdraw it, which I'm regretting now!

Me! However I am running Bournemouth marathon tomorrow because I didn't get into London this year. Therefore if I'm hurting all over and in the mindset of "never again!" and then I get a congratulations magazine the day after, my heart may sink a little lol! I would love to run one of the biggest marathons in the world though

I'd love to do another marathon, it's just the time it takes to train puts me off.

Me! (Sticks hand up). Only started running last November to try and beat anxiety. Ran my first half last weekend and absolutely loved it. Would love to do London - not only is it reasonably flat (I have lots of hills where I live so flatness is a novelty) but I grew up in London and we’d go and cheer on the fun runners each year. It would be amazing to be part of that that.

Yes I'm waiting for mine! 4th attempt and keeping fingers (toes and everything) crossed! have donated my entry this year to see if it makes a difference! If I don't get a place may try and enter a different one next year, good luck everyone!

If you are successful do you get a magazine and email or just a magazine?

I'm waiting too.I think it's about my 10th time of entering. I actually don't know how I'd cope if I got a place - the shock would kill me!

Bert If you're unsuccesful you might get the magazine or an email. From the website:-

Q. When do I find out if I have secured a place through the ballot?
A. All applicants will hear the outcome of their ballot entry in mid-October 2018. Everyone from the UK who gains a place in the ballot is sent the Congratulations magazine. A random selection of approximately half of unsuccessful applicants will be sent the Commiserations magazine and the remainder will be sent an e-zine version. Overseas applicants will be contacted via email.

@LoobyLou2709 You'll have another chance then! I got in for the first time last year. I donated by fee, and didn't realise that enters you into an additional draw called the bequest draw. It's an extra 1000 spaces from everyone who donated their fee

I’ve put in for the first time just because everybody else I was training with at the time did. Not overly fussed either way, if I get gfa this year then I’ll definitely do it next year though.

I’m fully expecting it will just be a ‘commiserations’ email for me! Can’t complain though- this is only my first entry. Hopefully it’s lucky number 10 for you!

Then I entered the Snowdonia Marathon 😱 2 weeks this Saturday.

If you log into your real buzz account it might tell you - mine says unsuccessful (but I’ve had no email or mag yet). Given that I’m injured that’s probably a good thing!

Did it last year for a charity very close to my heart and entered the ballot whilst still in a euphoric daze. Never expected to get in!
