Indonesia Tsunami

I would like to donate some money to help the Indonesian people following the devastating earthquake and tsunami that they have recently experienced.

However I don’t want my money to end up being spent on ballpoint pens and advertising blurb pushed through letter boxes - I want as much as possible to go directly to the people in need. With this in mind, which charity should I donate to ?

You want the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) which only has appeals when there's a massive crisis needing immediate help. It brings together 14 UK charities to work solely on that appeal.

Don't think there has been an appeal for a while, but this week they launched one for Indonesia, so go to www.dec.org.uk if you want to donate
