How to help a friend being catfished?

Someone I’ve met through a medical support group, (and have met in real life) is being catfished I think. If that’s the right term?

She is talking to someone in the US who is sending her photos, but refused to FaceTime/Skype only message. This lovely person is vulnerable and has sent her money for a supposedly buying a flight to London to see her. She has asked for more money which she hasn’t sent. I’m trying to gently say that I think this is a huge con and she’s been taken advantage of but it’s not her fault these people are very clever at what they do.
She has told her parents, but not the total amount of money that she’s sent.

Has anyone got any resources or links I can send her? Especially anything saying that it’s really not her fault. I’m guessing there’s nothing the police in the UK can do or will be interested in? Or does this count as internet fraud for some division? My only resource was one or two half watched episodes of the American show catfish.

Aren’t you kind.! I actually think 1. Just talking to her helps and 2. I think the police would be interested.

Okay, I am absolutely certain of it. I thought by the way she was talking that it was a few hundred pounds as she said she was asked for flights, but she has just told me she has sent £7000! Definitely a police matter at that level.

www.actionfraud.police.uk/ I’ve been told is the place to start or try and get her to her local police station. Just in case anyone else comes across this thread with similar.
