What can be causing my severe pelvic pain? (pic)

I have a severe burning, tearing pain in the muscles either side of my pelvis. It's further around than the sciatic nerve. It's the area of two hands as if holding my pelvis from behind. (pic) I'm 48, in good health, active. Gym 3-4 times a week, swimming also. I eat healthily and am 10.5 stone & 5'6' tall. I've had two MRI's for the pain & x-rays. The joints are perfect. Also a years worth of hospital physio, which did nothing as I'm already pretty fit. Could it be a menopausal symptom? I had my womb removed 6yrs ago but kept my ovaries, so I've no idea where I am regards meno. Regular painkillers no longer work & I don't want to use stronger ones but I'm in agony every day. Any ideas?

I think back to GP. Get a full workup on gynaecology and bowel to rule out any of the more serious causes.

Then bloods: Full blood count. Have you had your vitamin D levels checked? Rheumatic markers.

If all that is clear, and you feel it’s a purely musculoskeletal issue, then see an osteopath who specialises in women’s health. I was very sceptical but they were justclike a really hands on physio and helped enormously with my pgP.
