Wine fags and Valium

winegfagsandvalium · 05/10/2018 19:17

As my username and title suggest.

Just sitting here by myself with my drink, ciggies and sleepers.

Cats ignoring me doing their own thing

Anyone else here with me?? Sad

Wine and Valium aren't the best combo 😬

lepotato · 05/10/2018 19:19

Are you ok?

Sparklingbrook · 05/10/2018 19:20

That doesn't sound like a great combination. Sad

ScreamingValenta · 05/10/2018 19:20

What's wrong - has it been a terrible day?

WhenIWasAYoungWarthog · 05/10/2018 19:21

I don’t smoke but I do have gin and Valium. Aware it’s a very bad combination but I’m having a month that has been an absolute shitstorm of awfulness. And I want to go to sleep tonight for once. Cheers 🍹

Conseulabananahammock · 05/10/2018 19:22

I'll be on gin and tramadol very soon. Bad knee (tramadol) and very bad day (gin)

winegfagsandvalium · 05/10/2018 19:24

Ever get that feeling where you have everyone and no one?

Just feeling a tad sorry for myself I guess. MN is great at telling others to get their head of their arse.

OH is off out again 6th night on the trot. Guess I was just hoping for a nice night in, catch up on the week. I could always turn my laptop on and do some work Confused

Valium aren't going to make you feel better about life in the long term and shouldn't be misused in this way. Do you have a prescription for them?

kaytee87 · 05/10/2018 19:28

Where is your partner out to for the 6th night?

CantankerousCamel · 05/10/2018 19:28

Gin dihydracodiene and a possible Valium later here. Though I suspect how tired I am now will mean I won’t need one

winegfagsandvalium · 05/10/2018 19:29

@WhenIWasAYoungWarthog

Sometimes it just feels likes it never ending doesn't it. Hope yours is only temporary

I have elderly pony that is ill. Other one is just being a typical TB mare
A non existent OH
Job that tests my patience sometimes. Main contractor (think Grenfell) Sad

winegfagsandvalium · 05/10/2018 19:31

@kaytee87

Yes I do. I broke my back about 4 years ago, now the weathers turning I'm having my usual seasonal issues.

I know I shouldn't be taking them just because I feel like shit but I just feel like it tonight.

OP posts:
WhenIWasAYoungWarthog · 05/10/2018 19:32

That’s crap about your pony winegfags. At least having a mental TB mare takes your mind off it. Maybe?

How long have you been with OH? Does he often shit off every night for a week?

kaytee87 · 05/10/2018 19:35

@winegfagsandvalium Thanks I wasn't trying to berate you btw just wanted you to realise this really isn't their intended use.
When I feel a bit down my favourite takeaway, long bubble bath with face mask, then light a nice candle and watch a good comedy. Do you think something like that would help you feel better?

RebelRogue · 05/10/2018 19:37

No wine or valium here (sadly) but I'll join you on the fag.

winegfagsandvalium · 05/10/2018 19:37

@WhenIWasAYoungWarthog

Lol the headcase keeps me on my toes. She is the only Jekyll and Hyde I can hand on heart say I love dearly.

OH isn't our all the time, but it's been a shit week for both of us for very different reasons. His down time is to ride out on the bike, but it's been every night this week. I guess he is just getting the time before the weather turns. But you know when you wants just a night together?

OP posts:
winegfagsandvalium · 05/10/2018 19:39

@kaytee87 I know, but I do thank you for the reminder. I could like them a bit too much if allowed. Don't panic though all ok on that front

Frouby · 05/10/2018 19:42

Aw love.

I lost my little old lady pony last summer. If I am honest I felt better once I had made that decision and she was gone. Better a day too early etc. Will she make the winter? It's meant to be mild next week, worse ways to go than a nice autumn day with your human by your side.

As for fags, had been stopped 5 years, but had one when she had gone. I feel much better without them, but still love my vape. Wine and valium isn't the best combination. You know that. As a one off it's no worse than lots of wine or gin. But it can get moreish.

TBs will always be TBs though. I have a fat, hairy highland now, not as whizzy but lots of fun and very cuddly.

winegfagsandvalium · 05/10/2018 19:47

@Frouby

Sorry to hear about yours.

Little one is a 24yr old shetland just been diagnosed with cushings. I know it's not too dramatic but in all my years of horse ownership I've never had to deal with it. Google is good but can be a bad thing too. I'm just trying to find a happy medium at the moment with his medication.

The ex racer is 12 and normally a donkey but she has decided this week is the week to be the spawn of Satan Confused

OP posts:
winegfagsandvalium · 05/10/2018 19:49

@Frouby I've never had a highland. Had a Dartmoor, Connie and Sec D and they have all have had a bit of a screw loose. To be fair the TB is the sanest of them all.

The Shitland is just in a league of his own Grin

As for the job, without being too outing. I work for a main contractor, commercial role. Earlier this year I engaged a subby, who turned out to be a subby that manufactured and installed a product on grenfell. I've just, unknowingly, had the same product installed on a large project.

The product didn't get withdrawn from the market until very recently. Now the shit has hit the fan

OP posts:
Frouby · 05/10/2018 19:53

Mine had cushings too. It got too much managing the lami all summer then it flaring up in autumn as well. Worked out she was spending more time stabled or in the fat paddock/old sand school than in the field with the others. Then she started having a few respiratory issues, was scowly around her back end (and she was the most unscowly pony you would ever meet) so made the decision and had her done.

Cushings isn't the end of the world, but at 24 if I am honest I wouldn't be aiming for forever. While he is comfortable and being a pony it's all good. The minute he isn't it would be considering his options.

It's fucking shit and I broke my heart. But I never wanted to see her ribs and fluffy, curly coated stood watching her herd graze.

Still hard though.

And if it makes you feel better my.highland is being a moody bitch and my leadrein pony thinks he is a direct decedent of Desert Orchid. All 11.2 of him.

lepotato · 05/10/2018 19:54

You sound pretty sensible OP, your first post was more concerning! I am sorry you're feeling down though. I miss wine and valium, long time since I've had either.

winegfagsandvalium · 05/10/2018 20:01

@lepotato i didn't mean my first post to frighten, I had just got in and wanted to cry!
Actually I did a little bit.

The downside of cats is the buggers don't come and give you a hug. Unless I shout 'ham' of course Smile

OP posts:
winegfagsandvalium · 05/10/2018 20:05

@Frouby his levels were 18 in April, tested again in August at 149 but showing no obvious signs. Vet suggested medicating over the winter which will help keep any lami at bay, or don't medicate and monitor him.

But then google research led me to reading if I just monitor and he goes down hill I've then got a bigger issue to deal with.

I decided to medicate with 1/4 tablet and see how he goes. Will re test in a couple of weeks
