Does anyone else get totally fascinated / baffled by other cultures?

I was reading an article about American homecoming dances and really can’t fathom actually having one. Similar to father / daughter dances at schools balls and weddings

Indigenous people also fascinate me (for very different reasons) - I cant quite imagine living without our very techno heavy life

Yes. I love people watching, and am fascinated by all sorts of ways of 'being' that are outside my own experience.
Guess it is why I love MN so much Smile

For me it's also the opposite, the idea that something completely normal to me is absolutely alien to other cultures. I like it.

I get fascinated more than baffled. I like it too.

My Sudanese friends were scandalized to learn I eat butter after midday.

Why what happens if you eat butter at 2pm?

No idea. Possibly the whole fabric of society would be rent asunder. I tried to get them to take a bite of toast at 6pm once but they refused!
