Ikea Bjursta extending table

Does anyone have this and can you tell me how much of an arse exactly was it to build? We’ve bought the larger version of the two.

Would it be better to just pay someone to come and build it? Or should I be able to do it?

We have the Bjursta that pulls apart in the middle where the extension bits are stored (it's the 140/180/220 size) so has two extension bits stored inside. It was really easy to build but you do need a big space to lay everything out, so clear out the dining room before building!

This one

Of course it's really helpful for all Ikea furniture if you have a cordless screwdriver and a selection of screwdriver bits. Honestly the best two products DH and I have bought, saved lots of arguments.

We have the slightly smaller one; I sat back and directed operations while feeding the baby but it didn’t look too difficult Grin

Yes that’s the one we have purplecrazyhorse. Unfortunately no cordless screwdriver but I have all weekend if needed!

We had a similar one but square and it was fine.

Bought that last month on offer at Wednesbury (was £125)
Very very simple to put up, took about half an hour.

We have the smaller one and it was easy to build (although I do love a bit of Ikea flat pack!)

Lellochip · 05/10/2018 19:28

I built the small one by myself but I did need a friend to come help me turn it over once I'd put the legs on. It's quite heavy and I was worried about snapping something, though it probably would've been fine

Thank you, I feeling inspired to give it a go tomorrow morning 👍

We had that on a few years ago. I had a baby today too so let DH build it. It was fine

It’s done! It took me and ds (12) about two hours to build the table and a bench. Looks great!
