Babysitting Rates

RapunzelsRealMom · 04/10/2018 20:57

DD (17) has been asked to 'babysit' (supervise, really - kids are 7 and 13).

We know the family; they're friendly neighbours, not friends. DD is not sure what rate to suggest - she doesn't want to be grabby but also wants to make it worth her while.

We are in West of Scotland, town not city. Does anyone know the going rate?

Thanks

My dds generally say "Whatever you think" and get more than they would have asked for / been quite happy with Grin
If pressed, they tend to say they are happy with £20 for an evening or £5 an hour for a shorter 'sit'.

We are in a big City, in the Midlands.

I pay £5/ hour, always rounded up to the next full hour. 17 yo babysitter, Midlands.
