Does anyone else always fall ill during annual leave?

DH has fallen ill again. Hes taken a couple of days if this week to do complete a few jobs around the house he wanted to get done. But he's ended up falling ill.

It's no big deal but this is the 3rd time in a row this has happened. It's becoming a bit of a joke now tbh.

Does this happen to anyone else? Is it a thing?!

Is he stressed at work ?
It can be "a thing" .

Yes, it’s because you’re putting too much pressure on yourself while working that you are ‘running on empty,’ your immune system isn’t working as it should so when the pressure of works stops then you catch whatever’s going!

Happens a lot with people who work though periods of very high intensity e.eg. Teaching.

yep it does for me sometimes, if im stressed at work or run down or whatever, its like when I finally "relax" I get ill.

This was me when I was a class teacher and DHT. I don’t work now but it was the same every holiday and even happened to me on my first day of maternity leave where I caught swine flu Confused.

Always happens to me. I can’t remember the last time I had leave where I wasn’t unwell. I think when you have a busy or stressful job you just keep going and then when you stop your body relaxes and you get hit with something.

That's interesting. He isn't stressed at work . But he is physically stressed. He travels 4.5 hours a day for his commute with 6 trains in total, with cycling ten minutes and also changing train stations.

It a mission and a half just getting up work for him and he is absolutely knackered by the time he gets home. Because of this he is run down and has been feeling low in energy etc and is falling ill a lot more often. But I have noticed he falls ill a lot when he's off.
