Told DD she could take a friend for meal and a film (thankyou MEERKAT movies)

There are no films on at all that are kid friendly right now.

Any ideas for something else to do that doesn't cost the earth? Thanks

The MOSI?

The Whitworth Gallery is great, and has lots of things for kids. And MOSI, as said above.

Cat cafe if they like cats?

(There’s a Groupon offer for cat cafe at the moment)

The football museum is free and has a games floor with old arcade games that aren’t football related

When I was ten, my idea of heaven was being allowed to spend as much time as I wanted browsing in a big bookshop. Waterstones on Deansgate would definitely work, and has a coffee shop. This may involve buying a book or two, would recommend agreeing terms in advance!

Depending on the girls, you might also consider MOSI, Manchester Museum (on Oxford Road) the Pumphouse People's History Museum, seeing if there's anything on at Central Library, Manchester Art Gallery, and maybe Claire's Accessories in the Arndale!
