To get the phone call nobody wants

Had a call at 3.30am. My best friend in the whole entire world has been involved in a serious car crash. I've no way of getting to him.

I'm completely numb. I've had a brandy. I don't know what the fuck to do. He has very serious head injuries.

I won't be able to travel by train until tomorrow. I'm devastated. Don't know why I'm even posting. Maybe just for a hand hold.

When I lost someone recently I took great comfort in researching views on the afterlife.
Having that feeling that the soul was free yet here with us somehow.
I know it’s not for everyone though.

So sorry about what’s happened OP. You should take comfort from knowing you were there for him so he didn’t pass alone.
Yes it will be mixed feelings whatever the outcome of your a1. You will feel regret/ anger/ sadness / comfort ... the list is endless. You only need to tell whoever you want when you want. Just be kind to yourself
