To get the phone call nobody wants

Had a call at 3.30am. My best friend in the whole entire world has been involved in a serious car crash. I've no way of getting to him.

I'm completely numb. I've had a brandy. I don't know what the fuck to do. He has very serious head injuries.

I won't be able to travel by train until tomorrow. I'm devastated. Don't know why I'm even posting. Maybe just for a hand hold.

My sympathies OP I recieved that middle of the night call about my Dad and had a 2 hour drive to get to him, longest and sickest feeling 2 hours of my life. Hope you've got to your friend x

Sorry for not replying sooner. I got to him and just held his hand. His injuries were horrible.

He slipped away at 3:31pm. I am devastated. He was an amazing person.

I don't know how I will feel if our AI worked. My head is a bit scrambled.

So sorry for you and your friend’s family OP. Try and be kind to yourself. It’s one day at a time for now. You will find out about the AI soon enough and the deal with the emotions of that outcome.

Have I understood that you and your friend were trying for an AI baby together?
That must be very difficult for you right now.
