What mementos do you have saved for your children?

I have started to think a lot about mortality and that I want my children to know just how loved they are when I’m gone. Obviously I never kept up with the baby record books 🙄 but would love to start something that they can look at/read whenever they need a hand hold.
DD is 3 and DS is 5 Months

Not much but one of their first shoes, red book, hospital wrist band, one school book from each year, certificates they pick up along and way.

Reserve an email for them, then send things to it for them to open when they are 18 or when you die

Leave them the password

(I read this idea here on MN)

for each of my children i bought a big blank book, wrote ‘the story of (their name)’ on the front, decorated it with ribbons and buttons etc and then filled it with photos! i had pages for their firsts - first bath, birthday, holiday, christmas, etc... then i had pages with photos of them with all their various family members. at the back i have pages where i write funny and cute things they’ve said and done. and then i add photos of things we’ve done together, holidays, occasions, etc. i update it a few times a year and both my boys love looking at their books!

Have you seen the From You to Me journals? They're little books with questions for you to answer telling the story of your life - all about your childhood, your family history, how you felt when you became pregnant, hopes and wishes for your child, what you love about them etc. and there's space for photos too if you wanted to be a bit crafty with it!

Nothing really. But mine are teens now and they know how much I love them. It’s something you give to them and they learn over the years.
