How much do new kitchens cost?

We are in the process of buying a new house. Surveyor informed us today that the kitchen walls are seriously damp so the whole thing needs to be ripped out and replaced Shock. It wasn’t great but we planned to live with it for the 1st few years.

I have never bought a kitchen before and am clueless, and now facing a sleepless night thinking of the costs involved.

Would be really grateful if you would share with me where you got your kitchen from, cost, rough size and if you’re pleased with it. Also any advice/tips would be very welcome Smile.

It's a bit "how long is a piece of string" but you can do a 4x3 metre kitchen pretty nicely from Wickes (with their installation) for about £12k if you're okay with laminate surfaces. You can of course go as expensive as you like!

It really varies. Shop around. We got a 6x5 kitchen for £10k (including installation) about 4 years ago - solid wood cupboards and granite top. We went to a local family firm. The big names quoted 2 to 4 times the price for less quality.
