Is it safe to heat frozen cooked chicken?

I did a load of batch cooking before I had DS and froze everything in foil takeaway style containers.
I got a meal out at about 1pm today but it isnt defrosted.
Am I safe to cook it in the oven? It is chicken.

Yes, as long as it’s heated correctly it doesn’t matter what speed it defrosted.

You need to take it out in the morning for it to be defrosted in the evening. Do you have a microwave? Could you push the food out of the foil dish into a microwaveable dish and defrost in there?

Should be OK providing you make sure it's piping hot all the way through when you eat it. The worry would be (if it's a whole chicken breast or similar rather than cut up in a sauce) that it will be overcooked/burnt on the outside but still frozen/cold in the middle....

I might be tempted to stick it in the microwave on a defrost setting for 5 mins or so before it goes in the oven, just to make sure...

If you microwave, remember to take it out of the foil dish first

I've cooked whole chickens from frozen with no issues. Just make sure it's cooked through and piping hot

Yes it is, I usually cook it from frozen, as you would a frozen ready meal.
