Is anyone in Malta right now who can give an idea of the weather? The report is changing literally hour to hour so I’m clueless.

Not there now, but were there a couple of weeks ago. The weather report and forecast had a few days as 'stormy' then which was obviously worrying but the reality was hot and sunny all the time, except one overnight storm and one cloudy showery morning. So it might not be as bad as you fear.

Also, if the weather is bad on one side of the island, it's often much better on the other, due to the wind direction, so it might be worth taking a trip out to seek better weather.

Sorry but forecasts are accurate, weather has been bad, apart from northern france its the worst holiday weather we have ever had, last week we saw a tornedo, and all the boats stopped and pools closed for three days due to high winds, a couple of lower bars got flooded luckily they had removed as much as possible. We are now having storms and several hours of heavy rain today. Roads by sea have been flooded. Bring waterproofs, lots of books, and waterproof shoes, its not especially cold
