Interview Tomorrow - What to Wear?!

I have an interview tomorrow for an Early Learning and Childcare Assistant. I'm hoping to return to work now that DD has started school and have recently qualified as a level 2 teaching assistant.

This is my first interview in this field!

I was feeling quite calm about the whole thing, but now that it's tomorrow, what on earth should I wear?

I will also have to complete a 10 minute activity with a small group of children with no preparation. Any ideas what they might ask of me?

Just had this moved over from "The Staffroom" for more traffic. Hopefully some help from the evening crowd to calm my nerves Gin Grin

I used to interview. My advice is to put on your very smartest outfit and don’t wear a cardigan! Good luck.

As we don't know what you have in your wardrobe... I agree with the above. Good luck. Grin

I would wear smart black trousers, flat shoes and a shirt or blouse.

That would be so helpful if I had someone else here to go through my wardrobe with me!

I was originally thinking black trousers, smart top. I haven't got a smart jacket that fits anymore so was thinking a cardigan. Wasn't sure how smart to go as it's for a TA role in a preschool. There's also a practical side to the interview were I'll have to do an activity with a handful of children so wanted to feel comfortable too.

Definitely trousers so you can get up and down to small kids during the activity without feeling self conscious.

Black trousers and a smart top and practical shoes.

Black trousers and a smart top, low heeled shoes.
I'd do a story like Going on a bear hunt where you can move around the room doing actions or a music activity, loud and quiet, fast and slow etc followed by some songs.
You don't want them sat down more than a couple of minutes at nursery age.

Thanks everyone. I have black trousers, smart top and low heeled boots ready for tomorrow. Hoping it's another warm day so that I don't need a jacket or cardigan. We have Going on a Bear Hunt and the bear from it so will take both in with me. Just got to keep my fingers crossed now I guess. I'm so out of practice!

Good luck! Just be happy and energetic, nursery age is the best!
