How many hours sleep do you get a night?

And do you feel well rested throughout the day?

Just curious to see what works for others. I'm constantly exhausted and that's on 7 hours sleep 😴

In an ideal world, 10 I think, but I get 8 or 9 plus a lie in at the weekend and thats OK ish.

DS is like me and age 12 needs 11 hours

DramaAlpaca · 01/10/2018 21:53

I get 6.5 or so during the week, which isn't nearly enough. I catch up with 9 to 10 hours at the weekend.

I average between 7-8 hours a night.
My ideal is 9.5. I feel bloody fantastic after 9.5 hours sleep.

FabulousTomatoes · 01/10/2018 21:53

I go to bed about 10, drop off by 10.30, and get up between 7-7.30. However, I wake up several times in the night and go through phases of lying awake for hours. It’s been particularly bad recently and I find that only Nytol or Zopiclone gets me through the night without lying awake Sad
Pre-dcs I was one of those annoying people that could sleep for nine hours solid. I was still tired and far more dozey than I am now though - even in my twenties with no kids! I’ve decided that sleep is for wimps and have had to just get on with the insomnia Sad

beefchowmein · 01/10/2018 21:54

I’m the same, feel really cranky and tired with 6-7 hours. 8-9 is ideal for me.

Methe · 01/10/2018 21:56

My alarm tells me my average is 7.43 hrs but I don’t use my alarm at weekend so I think that’s a bit skewed.

Maybe 8.5 hrs.

DishranawaywiththeSpoon · 01/10/2018 21:56

I get probably about 7 and I am exhausted on that all the time. My ideal is 9 I think. Funnily enough if I get 5 I feel better throughout the day and function better than on 7, I feel more awake and less exhausted but then I crash.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 01/10/2018 21:58

4 to 5 hours unbroken mostly. Anything more is a bonus. I really need 7 to 8 and struggling a bit from lack of sleep.

Ohmyinneedofadvice · 01/10/2018 21:59

9-10 😳 I function on 7 anything under I feel hungover. I do have an underactive thyroid which is treated but still feel permanently exhausted.

Ohmyinneedofadvice · 01/10/2018 22:00

I set alarms for the weekend or I end up sleeping 12-14 hours !

Raven88 · 01/10/2018 22:01

6-7 but I never feel rested. I have a sleep disorder and move in my sleep. Maybe you should get checked out.

seething1234 · 01/10/2018 22:15

3-6 hours. 6 hours is a good night but udually alays broken. I'm at the end of my tether being woken up constantly by two and half year old and then there's the bed wetter. I used to be a brilliant sleeper now I'm too anxious to sleep as all I think about is "what's the point in sleeping when I'm going to be woken up". I spent 3+hours last night clock watching and got about 2 hours crap sleep.
It's causing me to feel a bit depressed. The only saving grace is one night of the weekend I sleep with earplugs and get a full nights sleep

BillyAndTheSillies · 01/10/2018 22:16

About 8 hours. Our two year old now goes until 7 in his own bed, until recently he'd be up at 5 and then come in to our bed until 7.

I'm usually in bed by 10 at the latest and the alarm goes off at 6:45.

Last week we got 10 hours because he slept until 8:30am. It really depends on how he is more than anything.

purplecorkheart · 01/10/2018 22:21

I get between 4 and 8 hours. However my fitbit tells me I get only a few minutes of deep sleep.

doubleshotespresso · 01/10/2018 22:23

3-4 hours on average. Couple of times a month I might grab a Saturday afternoon 2 hour nap if the other half is able to cover me....

StillMedusa · 01/10/2018 22:26

6.5 hours in the week..7-8 at the weekend.
I'm a night owl and never feel able to sleep before midnight, and my alarm goes off at 6.30am which combined with being on Gabapentin, makes me feel grim for the first hour I'm awake... coffee needed!

Piewacket · 01/10/2018 22:28

About 5 and a quarter hours usually.

I have a horrible commute, so if I went to bed early enough to get more sleep, then I'd have no evening at all. I catch up and have about seven or eight hours at weekends.

I hate it though, it makes me feel fragile and I wish I could have more sleep. I love sleeping.

littlestrawby · 01/10/2018 22:32

4-5 hours max of broken sleep if you tot it up. I have a non sleeping 10 month old.

I used to absolutely adore sleep/ lie-ins and never imagined I'd be able to get by on such little sleep once DD arrived. But you adjust to what your new norm is, I guess!

PinkPupZ · 01/10/2018 22:36

Between 3 and 6. Even if I had 7 I would still feel tired. Always do.

Strokethefurrywall · 01/10/2018 22:36

A minimum of 7.5 hours, usually aim for 8 if I can during the week.

I'm up most weekdays at 4.45am though. I always give myself one day a week to go to bed early and wake naturally, so usually a Sunday lie in to get approximately 9 hours or so.

INeedNewShoes · 01/10/2018 22:39

7 is my optimum. At the moment I generally manage 5 which is ok but I know I'd feel a bit better on more.

scrivette · 01/10/2018 23:11

About 4/5 hours broken sleep, usually up between 5/10 times in a night due to non sleeping children.

Darkestnight · 01/10/2018 23:18

4-5hours a night. This is due to my disabled dd needing help most nights. Sad

Cailleach · 01/10/2018 23:27

5-6 hours on average.
