Where to look online for houses to buy?

Looking to buy in an area not local so can’t really walk in estate agents. Will google for local estate agents, but do most sell on rightmove? Apart from Zoopla, purple bricks where else should I be looking?

It is always worth finding out the main local estate agents and having a chat with them (let them know what you are looking for and what your budget is) and checking their websites. Not all are on zoopla and Rightmove. Having said that those are the two that are mostly used where I am anyway. Good luck!

Thanks. With the estate agents, are you completely honest about what your budget is, I.e. what is your top end but what you would ideally want to pay? That if you have say an extra £20k in the tank you’d keep it quiet? I’m guessing they want the highest price for the seller and themselves compared with getting you a good deal if they think you’re at the top end of your budget?

We have always looked on rightmove (have bought in different areas a few times). Make a shortlist using rightmove then contact the agents to arrange viewings. I would expect everything to be advertised on rightmove anyway.
